Are you making plantain salve for healing your skin?

Plantago Major
Late Summer is a great time to gather Plantain into a jar, and infuse it with olive oil.
After a few weeks, you can strain it and repeat the process (discarding the older plantain leaves) or simply at that time blend the warmed oil with a little beeswax and store it in a jar to have as a healing salve all year long, useful for minor cuts, rashes, itches and cracked skin.
A little goes a very long way, so I suggest you start with a pint or jelly jar.
I've been so happy with the market sales of the Plantain Salve I make from fresh plantain. It's delightful and fulfilling to hear the stories from repeat customers. Look for it on our virtual farmstand and market table soon.
